The SimplePractice Client Portal mobile app makes communicating with your clinician even more seamless. You can securely message your clinician at any time and receive real-time notifications when they respond.

Sending secure messages
To send a secure message:
- Open the SimplePractice Client Portal mobile app
- Tap the chat bubble icon in the top right
Note: If your clinician doesn’t offer secure messaging, you won’t see the chat bubble icon. Your clinician will let you know how they’d prefer to stay in touch.
- Enter your message in the text field
- Tap the arrow to send your message
Note: The maximum character limit for a secure message is 5,000 characters.
Receiving secure messages
If push notifications are turned on for new messages, you’ll be alerted when you receive a new message. Tap the push notification to open the secure message conversation.

If you have unread messages, you'll see a red dot on the chat bubble icon:
Note: When viewing secure messages in the app with an iPhone version before iOS 17, you’ll need to copy any links sent by your clinician and paste them into your phone’s web browser. If you’re using an Android, you’ll be able to click on links directly.
